Gaetano (Guy) Tony Molinaro

On the afternoon of January 3, 2015, Guy went to be with our Lord. He passed away at the Colorado State Veterans Home in Walsenburg, Colorado. He was 89 years old.

Guy was born in Jansen, Colorado on February 22, 1925. He was the eldest son of Annie Tortorelli and Frank Molinaro. He attended Jansen, El Moro and Hoehne schools graduating from Hoehne High School in 1944.

Guy also served honorably in the United States Army.

In 1945, Guy worked for Soil Conservation Service. In the following ten years he also worked for Trinidad Electric and Railway Company and Frontier Power Company as a line man. In 1955 Guy began working for San Isabel Electric Company and later became foreman. He was a dedicated employee and eventually retired with the company in 1990 after 45 years of service in the electric department.

He was a longtime member of the Lega Abruzzese.

Guy married Mary Naccarato on January 19, 1952 at Mt. Carmel Church in Trinidad, Colorado.

Guy was selfless, generous and kind, always willing to help anyone in need. Guy loved to play ball, bowl, play poker, and watch sports on T.V. He took great pride in his garden and loved being around his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.

He was a longtime member of the Lega Abruzzese.

He was proceeded in death by his father Frank Molinaro, mother Annie Tortorelli, and brother Carmen Molinaro.

He was survived by his wife Mary Molinaro, son, Frank (Lisa) Molinaro, daughter Debbie (Chuck) Sawaya, grandchildren Charlie (Aileen) Sawaya, Branden Sawaya (Shannon Barclay), Tiffany (Craig) Montoya, and great grandchildren Kylie Montoya, Lily Sawaya ,Owen Sawaya, Koalten Jusypowycz, brother Frank (JoAnn) Molinaro, sister Rose Peretto and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.

Rosary will be recited Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 7PM at Holy Trinity Church.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.

Entombment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Ft. Carson Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Skalko, Joe Monarco, Paul Montera, Mike Mangino, Nick Furia, Larry Vezzani, Joe Dekleva, many friends and colleagues.

Active pallbearers are, Ben Naccarato, Anthony Naccarato, Billy Naccarato, Tony Pachelli, Guido Pachelli, and Frankie Molinaro.

Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.

    I took care of Guy while he was at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home, he will be GREATLY missed by all, Guy did not know a stranger there, he was friends with everyone! He was a WONDERFUL man and I will miss him! May God bless you all during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
