Rose Horner went home to our Lord on December 7, 2014. She was born on August 12, 1931 in Raton to Jose Cruz Tafoya and Louise Montoya Tafoya. Rose died at the home surrounded by her family.
Rose was a member of St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a member of the Legion of Mary. She loved her Lord and served him in many ways. She loved her family and was there for them at all times and showed them how to love one another and the Lord. She showed her kindness and love to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, daughter Julie Duran, parents Jose and Louisa Tafoya, brothers Pete Tafoya, Leo Tafoya, Ray Tafoya and wife Margaret, sisters Tillie Potts and husband Delbert, Celia Martinez and husband John.
Rose is survived by her daughter Martha, son Matthew and wife Linda, son-in-law John Duran. Grandsons Christopher and daughter Erika, Alan Horner, Joseph Horner and wife Shawn, Hank Horner and companion Vanessa. Great-grandsons Mark Horner, Alex Horner and wife Darla, and Robert Horner. One great great-grandson Zayden Horner. As well as many friends and extended family.
The family would like to thank Ambercare Hospice, Nurse Deb Howard, Nurse Robin, and CNA Sandi. We would like to thank family and friends for their prayers and calls. Special thanks to Father John Trambley for his many visits and prayers as well as Deacon Tom Alderette.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held Friday December 12th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Deacon Tom Alderette. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rose’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Rite of committal and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family can be reached at the home of Matt Horner at 820 E. 5th St. in Raton, NM.
