While this score was very lopsided Kudos to the Des Moines Boys for not giving up in this game. They scored only nine points in the first half but came back and put in 24 points in the second half while Springer played all 13 of their players.

The 2014 78th Annual Cowbell is in the books with a couple of wild championship games for sports fans to enjoy.
As the ladies took to the court it started right from the jump ball that was redone as the ball went out of bounds. They Lady Rams too an early lead and pretty much kept it into the fourth quarter when the Lady Red Devils found a spark to light their fire.
The Lady Red Devils out-scored the Lady Rams 19-9 in the fourth and spent a lot of time at the free throw line. The Lady Red Devils could have done more damage had they done better at the line, they only made six of their 15 attempts. As the quarter wore on Springer tied and managed to pull out in front with Cimarron left wondering what happened. When the buzzer sounded the Lady Red Devils scrambled for the bell and celebrated their win.

In the boys championship game it remained anyones game throughout as the score stayed close but never more than 12 points separated the two teams. Springer would pull out in front making it look like they were well in control of the game only to see the Questa Wildcats battle back and come to within two.
As the game moved forth into the fourth quarter Questa pulled one out of the hat and tied the game with less than two minutes on the clock. From their it was a game of back and forth leads and ties. Springer had tried to slow things down and go into a stall game that backfired. When the buzzer sounded ending regular play the scoreboard showed a tie ball game at 46.
Questa controlled the overtime period as they took the lead. Springer struck back but soon Questa took the lead and didn’t look back as they outscored Springer 10-4. When the buzzer sounded Questa had taken the cowbell win. They celebrated but not having won or been in the bell championship before weren’t sure what to do but they finally found the bell on the scoretable and made it ring.
