Andrew Richard Cruz, age 47, died Sunday, November 16, 2014, at his home in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Robert Hunt, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Andrew Richard Cruz was born on December 6, 1966, in Clayton, New Mexico to Jake Cruz, Jr. and Mary Conferina (Padilla) Cruz. He grew up in Clayton and attended Clayton Schools and graduated from Clayton High School in 1984. Andrew worked on oil wells for a few years while he was younger and then managed the Sonic in Clayton and in Albuquerque for several years before becoming a manager at Clayton Ranch Market. Andrew was preceded in death by his dad, Jake Cruz, Jr. on February 25, 1980, his mother, Mary Conferina (Padilla) Cruz on July 18, 2005, by a sister, Patricia Padilla and by a brother Larry Cruz.
SURVIVORS:
2 DAUGHTERS: Ciara Cruz and Andrea Cruz both of Clayton, New Mexico.
1 SON: Nickolas Cruz and his wife Hazel of Aberdeen, South Dakota.
6 GRANDCHILDREN: Julio Torres, Adan Torres, Naomi Torres, Elijah Cruz, Kristofer Petties and Chavela Lafferty.
3 SISTERS: Diana D’Angelo and Denise Padilla and her husband Michael all of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Evelyn Stoddard and her husband Keith of Clovis, New Mexico.
1 BROTHERS: Ronnie Cruz of Clayton, New Mexico.
And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
