For Colfax County the two big races were County Commissioner District 1 where Democrat Roy Fernandez took that race over Robert Horner and the Sheriff’s race where Republican Rick Sinclair beat out Democrat Lawrence Trujillo.

The county saw one of the highest voter turnouts in a long time especially since it was a non-presidential election year at just over 44%.
Harding County saw four contested races, County Commissioner District 1 saw Victor Vigil (185) lose to Robert Aragon (311) while in commission District 2 Harold Mackey (278) won over Michael Lewis (237). Raymond Gutierrez (286) won the Sheriff’s race over Clayton Moore (238). The other contested race was the Probate Judge race where Stella Ebell-Devers (283) won over Shawn Jeffrey (226). Harding County saw a 68% voter turnout for this mid term election.

In Union County Timothy Hodo (898) easily out distanced his challenger David Oliphant (485). Walter Hall (944) was returned to his commission seat over Noel Allen (433). In the Sheriff’s race Deputy James Lobb (949) easily took that office over Charles Martin (400). Union County saw a 52% voter turnout.

Colorado went to a mail in ballot this year and saw some very good voter turnout results. Las Animas County saw just over 56% voter turnout while Huerfano County had over 81% of the voters return a ballot.
