Steve Barme. age 61, passed away on October 15, 2014 at his home in Raton.
Steve was born in Barcelona, Spain but spent his boyhood in Taos, NM. He is the grandson of international artist, Eric Gibberd,
He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and afterward pursued a career in aircraft mechanics. While working in California he combined his career with firefighting. In 1988 he was hospitalized with severe back trouble and eventually he moved to Raton where his step-aunt Lucia and step-uncle Charles Hyde were living. Involving himself in several part time jobs including work at the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral home.
Among those grieving are a sister Dinah in Seattle Washington, Aunt Anne Hewat of Toronto, Ontario Canada, step-aunt Lucia and step-uncle Charles Hyde.His beloved cats are being adopted by Patty Whitman. The family wishes to thank in particular Blanca Quinn, Patty Whitman, Calvary Baptist church, and the Alderette Family.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held October 31, 2014 at 10:00am in the chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Buerkle officiating.A luncheon will follow at the Calvary Baptist Church in Raton.
Arrangements for Steve Barme are under the care and direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
