Eldon Redd, 90, of La Junta, Colorado died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in the Crowley County Nursing Center.
Eldon was born August 12, 1924 in Albany, Missouri to George and Laura Redd. He married Maxine McCallister in 1941, and they raised seven children in Raton.
Eldon served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He owned and operated the Raton Tire Service for approximately 20 years while also working as an fireman and engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring in 1982.
Survivors include his wife Jessie, son Norman (Marilyn) Redd of Littleton, CO; son Chuck (Beverly) Redd of Clovis, NM; daughter Lynda (Dennis) Heider of Highlands Ranch, CO; daughter Marilynn Breyer of Albuquerque, NM; and son Darrel Redd of Sandia Park, NM; fourteen grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Maxine, sons Joe and Glen Redd, grandson Wes Castleberry, and great grandson Johnny Castleberry.
Services will be held Saturday, October 18 at the First Christian Church in La Junta, Colorado at 10:00 a.m.
