Remo Mutton age 88, of Raton, NM, passed away Tuesday September 30, 2014 in Raton. He was born August 8, 1926 in Sopris, CO, the son of Luigi and Anna Salatin-Mutton. Remo had worked in the coal mine for more than thirty years, was a Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army and was a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton and a member of the U.M.W.A.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Robert and Alma Neish, brother Dino Mutton, and three brother-in-laws George McElroy, Joe (Della ) McElroy and Joe Marchiondo. Remo is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home, two daughters, Jeanie Kamm and husband Terry of Raton, and Susie Mutton of Raton, one sister Millie Marchiondo of Raton, five grandchildren, Marsha Wilson (Melissa), Jennifer Sins Baugh (Craig), Zach Kamm (Ali), Seth Kamm and Alli Kamm (Travis), three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Tyler and Aaliyah and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Steve Kamm, Terry Kamm, Zach Kamm, Seth Kamm, Randy Butt and Brandon Walton. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob McElroy, Eli Hronich, Charles Di Dominico, Steve McConnell, Ricky Marchiondo, Randy Marchiondo and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday October 3, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton. A Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette. A Funeral Vigil will be Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Yaksich-Long Funerfal Home Chapel with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of committal will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
