Rosalie Gomez-Martinez passed away on September 26, 2014 in Raton, NM. She was born on April 10, 1954 to the union of Joe E. and Rose Gomez. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by, her loving husband John Martinez, her children Michael and wife Susan Martinez, Rose and husband John Sanchez, Michelle Martinez and companion James Acevedo. Also grandchildren Kori, Michael, Jacob, Noah, John, Scott, Sarah, Shyanne, Jordan, London, Audrey, Jon Paul, & Bianca. Godchildren Frankie, Martina, & Toni. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Anthony, Joe and wife Loretta, Andy and wife Josie, Mary Ann and husband Wayne, Noby and wife Nancy, Frank and wife Sandra, & Jackie and companion Jim. She had many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Rosalie graduated from Raton High School in 1972 then started on her nursing career. She went on to get degrees as an LPN, RN, & BSN in nursing.
Rosalie’s life was spent caring for other’s needs. She was a dedicated, compassionate, loving person and nurse who always put others before herself. She helped deliver many babies both here at MCMC and also in Alabama. Rosalie was a nurse for over 40 years.
Rosalie’s last employment was for Raton Public Schools as the school nurse. She was the coordinator for the Health Career Programs also.
A viewing will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1st at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m., also at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
Rosalie will be sadly missed by family and friends.
