The 19th Annual International Bank Golf Tournament, to benefit the Service Organization for Youth, Inc. (SOY) was held at the Raton Golf Course on Saturday, September 20th.
The tournament was a Two-Person Scramble and drew 22 teams (44 participants). In the First Flight, First Place went to the team of Bubba Tapia and Frank Fernandez; Second Place was Robert Jones and Pat Vigil; the Third Place team was Patrick Dyer and Wayne Burnham; the Fourth Place team was Tino Cordova and Sam Serna.
In the Second Flight, First Place Winners were Joe Gagliardi and Tim Samora; Second Place went to Valerie Padilla and Marvin Sheriff; Third Place winner was the team of Eddie Cardenas and Bernard Trujillo; and Fourth Place went to Mike Cummings and Joseph Padilla.
Prizes were also given out to winners in competition for; Closest to the Pin on #8 was Frank Fernandez, Longest Putt winner on #9 was Pat Vigil.
The tournament was held on a beautiful autumn day in Northeastern New Mexico and it was great fun. SOY was able to raise over $5,000.00 to help support children, youth and family services in Colfax and Union Counties.
After tournament play, a luncheon was held at the Raton Country Club for all of the participants and workers. Gifts were given to all golfing participants and a raffle with dozens of prizes were distributed at the end of the day
