The Lady Redskins from La Veta travelled over the hill to take the match in four Friday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers came off a match in Las Vegas last night where they dropped that match in three. Did the back to back matches have an effect on the Lady Tigers? After today’s match one might thinks so as the girls seemed sluggish in game one and two. They did have some trouble with taking serves. In game three Raton came alive and one point led the game 21-14. La Veta made a run for it but Raton managed to hold them off for the win.
As game four got underway it looked like La Veta had a night’s rest as they pulled away quick and put Raton down with spikes and aces.
Coach Johnson said the girls didn’t look good Thursday night in Las Vegas and that trend seemed to follow Raton into Friday as well.
Raton will pickup the ball again Tuesday in Trinidad, and face Cimarron Thursday at home both matches are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. but that could change as so many have this season already.
