San Miguel County: On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at approximately 9:03 p.m., Officers from the New Mexico State Police responded to a residence in Trujillo, New Mexico. The initial call indicated that the homeowner had been physically assaulted by two male subjects and a weapon had been stolen from his residence.
The preliminary investigation revealed there was a physical altercation at this residence earlier in the evening between the three subjects at approximately 5:00 p.m. During the altercation the victim sustained stab wounds but was able to return to his residence and lock the suspects outside. As a result both suspects left the scene.
Later that evening, at approximately 9:00 p.m. the two suspects returned to the residence and at least one of the suspects broke in. While inside the residence the suspect was confronted by the victim. When the victim claimed to have a firearm the suspects fled leaving the residence.
It is also suspected that a firearm was stolen from the victim’s residence.
Due to the seriousness of this case, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was called to the scene, adopted the case, and are actively investigating this incident.
