Barbara T. Garcia, 54, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her residence in Cimarron, New Mexico after a 6 month battle with leukemia.
She was born on November 20, 1959 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is the daughter of Epifanio and Maddalena Sandoval, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Marshall Garcia sr, and her sons, Marshall Garcia jr, and Dominic Garcia and his wife Ashlee.
Barbara married Marshall in Santa Fe on August 16, 1980 and was employed by the Cimarron School system during the past 20 years.
She is also survived by her in-laws John and Jane Garcia; her brothers Michael and wife, Susan Sandoval; Filemon Sandoval; Ralph and wife, Grace Sandoval; Reyes and wife, Caroline Sandoval; her sisters Mary Ann and husband, Joe Mendez; Susie and husband, Tony Darras; and Julia and husband, Lee Quintana.
SERVICES Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 17 at 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, 244 North First Street, Raton, NM.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, August 18th at 10:00 A.M. recited by Pat Zamora, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father Emmanuel Izuka as the celebrant at Sister Hildegarde Smith Parish Hall, 150 West Eleven St. Cimarron, NM.
Interment will be held in Santa Fe on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 A.M. at the Rosario Cemetery, 499 N. Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
The family would like to thank the Cimarron and Eagle Nest communities for their Love and Support, donations, cards and food.
