Andres Romero, age 75, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Rosary will be recited at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 15 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. Joel Bugas, Celebrant. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Andres “PeeWee” Romero was born on October 28, 1938 in Farley, New Mexico to John Romero and Isabelle (Tafoya) Romero. He was raised in Farley and Clayton by his grandparents Francesca and Marcelino Romero. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1957. He loved playing sports especially basketball, where he was given the nick name “PeeWee” which stuck with him the rest of his life. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in all of their sports activities. Andres was a hard worker all of his life and worked various jobs out of town which caused him to miss out on a lot of his childrens activities in life, but he always tried to provide for his family. He was well known for his painting skills which gave him the opportunity to work all over the country. He continued to work up until a few years ago when his health no longer allowed him to continue. Andres loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally and we will miss him greatly. Andres was preceded in death by a son; Frankie Joe Romero, Mother; Isabelle Tafoya Romero, Grandparetns; Francesca and Marcelino Romero, Father; John Romero, Step-Mom; Tilly Romero, 2 Brothers; Junior Romero and Bobby Romero, Sister; Annie Romero and his in-laws; Pula and Petra Valdez.

4 DAUGHTERS: Debra Thelander and her husband Damon, Pam Jordan and her husband Charles and Andrea Naranjo and her husband Anthony all of Clayton, NM and Tina Farley and her husband Rich of Tulsa, OK.
2 SONS: Charles Romero and his wife Elma of Clayton, NM and Rick Romero and his wife Roberta of Roswell, NM.
1 SISTER: Sharon Pineda of Huguton, KS.
1 BROTHER: Norman Romero and his wife Penny of Baytown, TX.
2 Friends that were like brothers to him: Sonny Cordova and his wife Chavela of Tecoloquito, NM and Johnny Cordova and his wife Vicky of Stinett, TX.
15 Grandchildren: Jennifer Romero, Charlie Romero and his wife Lavette, Lydia Romero and Brandon Lopez, Richard Villalobos and his wife Victoria, Tiffany Holcomb and her husband Zach, Michelle Villalobos, Ashley Romero, Leslie Romero, Ricky Romero, Chelsie Thelander, Brittany Thelander, Charlie Jordan, Jacob Naranjo, Logan Naranjo and Andre Naranjo.
12 Great-Grandchildren: Jasmine Romero, Isabella Romero, Charleigh Steen, Alexis Kimber, Dathan Kimber, Maddox Lopes, Emma Villalobos, Sophia Villalobos, Myah Sosa, Jerzy Romero, Memphis Romero and Gerald Robles.
And numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
