Marlene Shrock, age 82, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Kyle Bueermann, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Marlene Shrock was born on August 3, 1931 in Snyder, Texas, to Marvin E. Dever and Una Lee (McGinty) Dever. She married James E. Shrock on July 11, 1949 in Portales, New Mexico, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2011. Marlene lived in Elida, NM, as a child and lived and worked in Portales, NM, prior to moving to Clayton in 1974. She worked on the farm picking cotton and in a number of retail positions, but most of her life was spent working with her husband, James. For 56 years they worked in sales and service of natural gas and diesel irrigation engines. In addition to bookkeeping and office work, she was always ready to make trips for parts or whatever was needed. She first — and always — took great pride in her family; secondarily, her passion was fashion – she loved her wardrobe and jewelry. Marlene was always a joy to be around and will be missed greatly by all of her family and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Marlene was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Leroy Dever, Alvin Dever and Carl Dever, 1 sister: Evelyn Dever, and a great-grandson.

3 DAUGHTERS: Kaye Barnes and her husband Rusty of Clovis, New Mexico, Jamie Edwards and her husband Jim of Electra, Texas and Charlotte Shrock of Guymon, Oklahoma.
9 GRANDCHILDREN: K’Aun Wild and her husband Mike, D’Ann Martindell and her husband Don, Kitza Barnes, Kevin Holmes, Jason Holmes and his wife Kristi, Layne Holmes and his wife Ginnie, Ricky Myers and his wife Dawn, Michael Myers and his wife Kathlene and Justin Spriggs and his wife Kaye.
