Janet Elaine Wheeler, age 79, went home to her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2014.
Memorial Services will be held at Restoration Fellowship Church, 10200 Album Ave. El Paso, Texas on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 6:00 PM. Visitation from 5 to 6pm.
Jan was born on December 23, 1934, the daughter of Walter L and Maurine Adams in Clayton, New Mexico. She attended New Mexico State on a Music Scholarship and was a gifted musician throughout her life. Jan moved to El Paso in 1960 where she raised her children. Jan touched many people in her life working 50 years in her community. As Assistant Sun Bowl Director she was a key member in the annual Sun Bowl Festivals, coordination of the Sun Bowl parade and Sun Bowl Queen pageant. Her expertise in coordinating parades sent her across America and to foreign countries. From there Jan went on to Yselta Independent School to support the principals, staff and students at Eastwood Knolls and Rio Bravo. She was also a faithful Sunday School teacher for the 3 year old kids at Cielo Vista Church. She loved life, was no bigger than a minute and was an avid football fan. Jan went to join the following family members in Heaven: her parents; Walter and Maurine Adams, brother; Arthur Lawrence Adams, 2 sisters; Sylvia Adams and Deanne Knotts, brother-in-law; Ken Serratt, sister-in-law; Donna Adams and nephew; David Knotts.

5 SONS: Kenny Wheeler and his wife Alma, James Wheeler and his wife Karen, Walter Wheeler, Jon Wheeler and his wife Norma and Joe Wheeler and his wife Alison.
2 SISTER: Beth Serratt and Karen Smith and her husband Mike.
1 BROTHER: Jim Adams
21 GRANDCHILDREN: Kay’s children; Jennifer, Jacob, Jason, Michael and Ryan, Kenny’s children; Kennah, Sibone and Jacob, James’ children; Robyn and Robby, Walter’s son; Jeff, Jon’s children; Amanda, Joseph, Albert, Julian and Jonah and Joe’s children; Michael, Justin, Jared and Ezra.
