Seniada “Sadie” J. Duran age 83, of Raton, NM, passed away Thursday June 5, 2014 in Raton. She was born October 28, 1930 in Folsom, NM, the daughter of Abran and Sofia Garcia-Mondragon. Sadie was a house keeper for many years, a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton, she was a great cook who loved her family and bingo. She wanted everyone to feel welcome at her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Fernando “Freddy” of the home, one daughter Juanita Sparks and husband Blaine of Los Lunas, NM, two sons, Eddie Duran of Raton and Fernando Duran of Rio Rancho, NM. Two sisters Beatrice Blea of Pueblo, CO, and Helen Valdez and husband Alex of Miami, NM, and one grandson Stephen Duran of Rio Rancho, NM.
Visitation will be Monday 9, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton. Graveside services and burial will be Monday June 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Springer Cemetery in Springer, NM with Deacon Ed Olona officiating
