Adelina E. Segura, 91, of Raton, NM, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 in Raton. She was born on January 8, 1923 in Tinaja, NM, the daughter of Jose & Margarita Martinez. Mrs. Segura worked as a dietician in the Miners’ Hospital in Raton for many years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary for many years and St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton.
Mrs. Segura is survived by three daughters: Nancy Valdez, Marcella Duncan and husband, Joe, and Amelia Vigil and husband, Gilbert, all of Raton; a daughter-in-law: June Segura of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sons: Leo Segura and wife, Nancy, Leonard Segura and wife, Loretta, all of Raton, and Raul Segura and wife, Amy, of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters: Mary Alarid, Mary Lou Sedillo and husband, Charlie, and Gertrude Bradford, all of Raton; a sister-in-law: Carmen Doffermeyer and husband, Frank, of Santa Fe; two brothers: Orlando Martinez and wife, Carmen, and Larry Martinez, all of Raton; a brother-in-law: Vivian Segura of Raton; 59 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s-St Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Frank Cimino. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
Pallbearers will be: Harvey Valdez, Mark Valdez, Leo Segura, Jr., Damon Segura, Thomas Segura, Keith Segura, Larry Martinez & Gilbert Mares.
Honorary bearers will be: Branden Segura, James Junior Segura, Adrian Segura, Jimmy Segura, Sr., David Gonzales, Ronnie Gonzales, Ricky Gonzales and Flavio Encinias.
