Secundino Sandoval, age 86, of Raton, NM, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Raton. He was born August 29, 1927 in Cimarron, NM, the son of Dulceneu and Antioneta De Herrera-Sandoval. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Evelyn Sandoval, Daughter Romaila Sandoval, Five Brothers and Five Sisters.
Secundino was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and playing his guitar. He worked as an underground coal miner for the Allen Mine in Trinidad, CO. He also worked for the NRA Whittington Center as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his Companion Helen Grine of Raton, NM, one daughter Emerly Trujillo of Raton, NM, five sons, Louis Sandoval of Raton, NM; Sandy Sandoval and wife Wendy of Pueblo, CO; Anthony Sandoval and wife Julie of Colorado Springs, CO; Leroy Sandoval and wife Debbie of Raton, NM; and Wayne Sandoval and wife Jodi of Colorado Springs, CO. Sixteen Grandchildren, Twenty-Nine Great-grandchildren and Twelve Great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Joe Sandoval and wife Betty of Riverside, CA.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Yaksick-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Glen Alire officiating.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Secundino Sandoval are under the direction of the Yaksick-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
