The Raton Osos started out a bit on the slow side but managed to pull one out with a rally in the seventh for a 4-3 win over the Triggers in their home opener.
As was the case last year the coaches came out and forced the hand of these young and new umpires by questioning several of their calls. One call was an out at second base where the Triggers short stop had the out but dropped the ball, that call was reversed. Other calls were discussed and all were left as called.
The series with the Triggers continues in Trinidad on Thursday and back in Raton on Friday.
