Richard F. Trujillo “Dick” 62, a lifetime Puebloan, he was born November 9, 1951 to the union of Jess and Rose Trujillo. His mother Rose precedes him in death along with, a sister, Patricia Montez, Grandmother, Helen Vigil and father-in-law Harold Lovato.
Dick graduated from Central High School (1970), Trinidad State Jr. College (1972), Southern Colorado State (1974) and Special ED. Certificate (2010).
Since the age of 8 years old Dick had a passion for sports. He has been associated with, Little League Bessemer Park 8 years old, Softball Central Field 12 and under, Runyon Field Organized Sports, Central High School (lettered in, Baseball, Basketball and Football, Class President Senior Year, Mr. Central, Senior Year; Elk organized sports, Semi Pro Sal Acuna Angels, Fast pitch organized League, El Ray, Giadones, Bessemer Park organized leagues, Trinidad State Jr. College Baseball Team (1971-72) Sports Scholarship, Traveling League, Perfect Image, T’s Nine Baseball Teams, Sport Garden organized Sports, Umpired organized sports leagues, Coached Central High School Baseball Teams, Coached Parks and Recreation Little League Bessemer Park for the City of Pueblo, Organized many Fast pitch Softball Tournaments, Directed Youth Program City of Pueblo, Coached girls softball leagues organized sports, Retired from School Dist.60 after 30 years of service, Taught at Dolores Huerta 2 years and was a current Employee at El Pueblo Boys and Girls Ranch to Present. Throughout these years Dick has received many Certificates, Awards and Trophies to numerous to list.
Survived by his Loving Wife of 39 years Berniece (Lovato) Trujillo his Children Brandis (Dru) Trujillo, Brook Trujillo and son Rick Trujillo, Sisters Victoria Esquivel, Jackie (Dave) Martinez, Brothers Mike (Debbie) Trujillo, Chuck (Natalie) Trujillo; Brother and Sister in Laws, Steve Montez, Bea (Phil) Rico, Vicky(Julian) Gettler, Leroy(Corinna) Lovato, Teresa (Steve) Sampson, Daniel Lovato, Valorie (Tom) Maynes, David Lovato, Mother in Law Dora Lovato and numerous other Relatives and Friends.
Rosary 7 p.m. Wednesday (March 26) at Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass 10 a.m Thursday (March 27) at St. Francis Xavier Church. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
