Darline Seay Brown, 86, died February 17, 2014, in Pueblo, CO. She was born October 27, 1927, in Trinidad, CO, to Edward and Cornia (Lawson) Seay.
She married Jay T. Brown Jr. in 1947. She was a homemaker and ranchers wife. She was a member of the First Baptist Churches in Folsom and Des Moines, NM. She was a member of the Folsom Extension Club, Branson Community Club and two bridge clubs. She made one quilt, worked on it every election day while working the polls. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was also a great cook. Throughout her life she lived in numerous places in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. Starting with Tobe, Co., Branson, CO., after marrying Jay T., Dry Cimarron near Folsom, NM., until six years ago she moved into assisted living first in Amarillo, TX., then Trinidad, CO., and finally Pueblo, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, brother Leland Seay and his wife Valeta, sister Juanita and her husband Pancho Gleason, brother-in-law George Verquer, grandson Chris Weith and niece Vicki Verquer-Ebell. She is survived by Duane (Cyndy) Brown and Darien (Dianne) Brown. Grandchildren Shelley (Scott) Stanley, Brian (Laura) Brown, and Robbie (Janie) Brown, sister Modene Verquer, and five great grandsons. Darline is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dr. John Doherty, David Guilliams, Vernon Reif, Donald Reif, Kirk Kennedy, and Boyd Burchard.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 10 am to 1 pm at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 pm at the funeral home. A private family burial will follow on the family ranch with a public reception and dinner at the Branson Community Center from 4 pm to 6 pm. In lieu flowers the family requests donations be given to the Wounded Warrior Project, Frontier Hospice of Pueblo, Co. or any charity of your choice. The family has entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.
