The 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for a full time Victim Witness Assistant
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires some knowledge of the criminal justice system, court proceedings, and procedures within the District Attorney’s Office; communication and organization skills; ability to prepare reports and correspondence; ability to work with diverse individuals and agencies.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, social sciences, or related field or at least two years of work experience in the criminal justice system, criminal law, human services, or other related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences, or related field; four years work experience in a related field.
Salary:
Based upon experience and the current District Attorney Personnel and Compensation Plan.
Range of salary begins at $45,628 depending on experience.

LVT SERVES THE STEWARDSHIP NEEDS OF HUERFANO AND LAS ANIMAS COUNTIES, LOCATED IN THE SPANISH PEAKS REGION OF THE SOUTHERN FRONT RANGE. THE AREA COVERS 186,156 ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND WITH FOUR WATERSHEDS, 100+ MILES OF MULTI-USE TRAILS, AND NUMEROUS PARKS THAT PROVIDE RECREATION AND ECOLOGICAL AMENITIES. WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LAND MANAGEMENT AGENCIES, LVT EXECUTES PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT IMPROVE WILDLIFE HABITAT, ADDRESS THE IMPACT OF RECREATIONAL USE, RESTORE OPEN SPACES, MITIGATE WILDFIRE AND FLOODING, AND EDUCATE VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON RELEVANT ECOLOGICAL TOPICS.
POSITION SUMMARY
THIS POSITION PROVIDES A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BE PART OF A PASSIONATE AND GROWING NONPROFIT DEDICATED TO THE LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE, PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT OF TRAILS AND PUBLIC LANDS. THE STEWARDSHIP COORDINATOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REGIONAL STEWARDSHIP PROGRAMMING, PROJECT DEVELOPMENT, AND ON-THE-GROUND MANAGEMENT OF FIELD PROJECTS AND CREWS. THE STEWARDSHIP COORDINATOR WILL SERVE AS THE POINT OF CONTACT FOR LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL PARTNERS, VOLUNTEERS AND CONTRACTORS WHO ARE UTILIZED TO EXPAND OUR CAPACITY.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
THIS IS A 32-HOUR PER WEEK, EXEMPT SALARIED POSITION. THE SALARY RANGE IS $44,500-$49,500. BENEFITS INCLUDE HEALTH INSURANCE STIPEND, PAID VACATION AND HOLIDAYS, SICK LEAVE, AND MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT.

POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE, A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD, AND USE OF A PERSONAL VEHICLE. Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Operational Lieutenant of the Vigil Maldonado Detention Center of the Colfax County, provides a wide range of working level in detention center duties intended to secure a safe environment for inmates, co-workers and county citizens that visit the facility. Ensuring that all Policies and Procedures and Special Directives are carried out by security staff under his/her sphere of authority.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Working conditions:
Functions of the position are generally performed in a controlled environment. Many functions of the work post a high degree of hazard and uncertainty.
Required to work weekends, holidays, and any on-call requests.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The E-911 Coordinator/Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate emergency response systems and providing essential administrative support for efficient office operations. This position involves conducting field research to verify addresses, location names, house numbers, and street sign accuracy to ensure that 911 databases are current and accurate. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the County Manager, this position is responsible for the financial management operations of the county. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to budgeting, purchasing, fixed assets, inventory, and grant administration. The position responsibilities involve the annual budget preparation, monitoring, revision, presentation, and approval as well as coordinating and collecting information for audits and addressing any concerns.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Department Management
Develop, evaluate, and implement department goals, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
Conduct research and planning; monitor industry trends and identify potential changes.
Works with County Manager in developing procedures and schedules and forms necessary to prepare, revise, and approve annual budget. Is responsible to obtain department heads budget requests and works with County Manager department heads to adjust or reduce Finance budget formats, to compile financial information, and submit within in timelines to County Commission for approval.
- Budget and Financial Management
Develop and monitor the budget; prepare special and recurring reports, budgets, grants, proposals, and contracts.
Manage financial functions including accounts payable, receivables, grant accounting, payroll, internal auditing, infrastructure, and fixed asset accounting.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and governmental accounting standards.
- Audit and Reporting
Coordinate and oversee the annual audit with external auditors.
Manage the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Prepare timely reports for the Commission and County Manager.
- Policy and Procedure Development
Develop and document internal operation guidelines and procedures for financial functions and County revenue expenditures.
Monitor budgetary preparation of purchase orders, vendor maintenance, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Grant Management
Prepare progress and pay requests for grants; ensure compliance with funding agency requirements. Develop and maintain databases and systems for recording and tracking grants.
Monitor and coordinate grant administration to ensure compliance with budgeting and administrative policies.
- Coordination and Communication
Work with County Manager and County Commissioners to ensure the delivery and submission of financial reports. Attend County Commission meetings and make presentations to support grant agreements and other items.
Serve as a member of various staff committees and provide support to boards and commissions.
- Training and Development
Train staff in grant reporting and compliance requirements.
Provide leadership, direction, and coaching in performance management, problem resolution, planning, and work assignments.
- Special Projects and Other Duties
Manage software and assist with other software implementations. Prepare journal entries and assist with accounts payable as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Attends various meetings when assigned, shall attend all regular scheduled Commission meetings, prepare, and provide up to date financial information on matters discussed at Commission meetings. Monthly documented financial report shall be submitted to the County Manager and County Commission at the regularly scheduled Commission meeting.
Advice, and works with County Department Heads in the monitoring, spending, and budgeting of various funds.
Works with special assignments when assigned by the County Manger when such projects are related to finance operation or related County work and intent.
May be required to travel for work-related meetings. May be required to drive to determined destinations.
Presents, performs, discusses, and testifies on issues as a representative of the County and County matters when assigned by the County Manager. Performs various work assigned and responsibilities using state of the art office equipment.
Inventories physical assets, identifies, or obtains appraisal values and ensures a general liability coverage, based on updated fixed assets appraisals.
Track and prepare all grant reporting and requests for payment may be assigned to write grants as needed or required. Maintain professional relationship with all governmental agencies as it relates to grant administration.
Track invoices and contracts as it relates to grant administration.
Report on grant status to the County Manager quarterly and keep County manager informed of any significant developments. Presents information to County Commission on grant issues.
Reconcile all grant revenues and expenses Comply with all DFA reporting requirements.

- Valid State of New Mexico Driver’s license or able to obtain within six (6) months of employment

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION OPERATIONAL LIEUTENANT OF THE VIGIL MALDONADO DETENTION CENTER OF THE COLFAX COUNTY, PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF WORKING LEVEL IN DETENTION CENTER DUTIES INTENDED TO SECURE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR INMATES, CO-WORKERS AND COUNTY CITIZENS THAT VISIT THE FACILITY. ENSURING THAT ALL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND SPECIAL DIRECTIVES ARE CARRIED OUT BY SECURITY STAFF UNDER HIS/HER SPHERE OF AUTHORITY.
