Lena J. Sisneros age 79, of Maxwell, NM., passed away Thursday December 26, 2013 in Maxwell. She was born December 24, 1934 in Walsenburg, Colorado the daughter of Raymond and Rose Sandoval-Casias. She had been the head cook for the Boy Scout Ranch at Philmont and the Senior Citizen Center in Maxwell. Lena was a very religious person, her life was dedicated to her Lord. She served as the president and every position on the Altar Society at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Maxwell. Lena was totally dedicated to her family, especially during Christmas, which was her favorite holiday. She loved to travel. She visited eighteen states, always talking of her favorite place, which was New York City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and sister. Lena is survived by her husband Paul Sisneros of the home, four children, Michael Sisneros and wife Christina of Raton, NM, Tina Hoy and husband Russell of Maxwell, NM, Rosalie Sisneros of Maxwell, NM, and Paul Sisneros Jr. and wife Christine of Maxwell, NM. Twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Monday December 30, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Maxwell recited by Deacon Tom Alderette. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of Christian Burial will be at the Maxwell Cemetery.
