SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 23, at Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines, New Mexico. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family plot in the Des Moines Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. BACKGROUND: Betty (Mayreis) Kennedy was born January 19, 1922 in Pleasant Plains, Illinois to Charles J. Mayreis and Cade B. (Swan) Mayreis. She married William G. Kennedy on July 16, 1962 in Des Moines, New Mexico. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son; Wayne Purvines, 3 brothers; Charles Mayreis Jr., Thomas Rawls and Norman Mayreis and by her sisters Rose Dear and Thelma Sprose.
SURVIVORS:
HUSBAND: William G. Kennedy of the family home in Roswell.
3 SONS: Gary Purvines of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Craig Purvines of Amarillo, Texas, and Jeff Purvines of Gruver, Texas.
2 STEP-SONS: William Kennedy and Clarence Kennedy both of Granbury, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Albert Flaming, Johnny Moffett, Jared Purvines, Clint Runyan, William David Kennedy and Clarence D. Kennedy.
