Legends are born, not created. Charles “Baz “ Bazanele, born January 7th,
1936 in the mining town of Vallorso, CO.
Chuck was a mine worker, school janitor, and generally awesome human.
Baz passed away Sunday, November 17th at 4:30pm. He loved his family, taking care
of his yard, and watching the Denver Broncos. He thoroughly enjoyed plowing snow
in the winter and thankfully not causing traffic accidents with his erratic driving.
Charles loved delivering flowers, and he never forgot an address or name. He loved his dogs,
and after they passed, his cat Awesome, curled up at his feet every night to sleep.
He had a wicked sense of humor. Chuck liked to stop at every table and BS, when he went
out for dinner with his family, as if he was running for city council and on many afternoons
he gossiped at Duffy’s Barber Shop. In his later years, Baz drove around on his golf cart surveying,
talking, picking up baseballs and hassling the TSJC Trojans. He never knew a stranger, he was
generous, and often bought the city guys a cold Pepsi if they were working nearby. Chuck laid the
ground work for his family’s work ethic and without him Trinidad Greenhouses would have never
been a success.
Grandpa Chuck will be sorely missed by his wife, daughter, son, grandkids, nephews, nieces, and many,
many friends.
