Nimpha J. Garcia age 87, passed away Sunday October 27, 2013 in Denton, TX. She was born July 29, 1926 in Mora, NM, the daughter of Jose E. and Maclobia Valdez-Lucero. Nimpha had worked for many years as a nurse, school councilor and a home maker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM and a member of the Third Order of the Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Art Garcia and daughter Marie Baca . She is survived by two daughters, Leonie San Miguel and husband Juan and Cecilia Munk and husband Michael all of Albuquerque, NM. four sons, Joseph Garcia of Clovis, NM, Arthur Garcia and wife Mila of the United States Merchant Marines, Frank Garcia and wife Maricela of The Colony, TX, and J.D. Garcia and wife Brikena of Corinth, TX. Fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday November 4, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be at 4:00 P.M. recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette. Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday November 5, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of committal will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
