Saturday afternoon was another run and gun volleyball match in Tiger Gym as the Tigers hosted the Robertson Cardinals for another district match that went to five games and one heck of a tiebreaker game that even went past 15.
Except for game three all of the games were tight with both teams taking the lead and tying the ball game at least once or more during the games. Even game three was tied at five early on before Raton took off with the lead and won it with a 10-point lead.
This match saw the girls on both sides of the net get the blocks for points as well as the spike for points. The girls also made it a team effort as they all contributed to the effort from both sides of the net. Probably explaining why this match was as close as it was.
As this was the last home game of the season for Raton their parents and the other teammates honored the senior girls and it was also the pink game with all the players in pink tops to recognize breast cancer awareness month.
The girls will travel over the hill to Taos on Thursday for the last district match of the season. District play will begin the week of November 4th.
