The Lady Tigers seemed to struggle early on in game one of their match with Clayton for the Volleyball Homecoming festivities Thursday evening in Tiger Gym.
The game was tied at eight early on, when Clayton pulls out to a five point lead and holds of the Lady Tigers until late in the game when the girls seem to gel and finally bring it together. They closed the gap and tied the game at 22 and then again at 23. The match played on with long volleys back and forth until someone missed a pass or bellied one in the net. When the final whistle blew it was Raton 28, Clayton 26, and the crowd went wild as the Lady Tigers pulled out that exciting game.
In game two Raton took an early lead and extended it to an eight point lead. Raton pulled it out to a 21-11 lead and then it looked like they might let that 10 point lead dissolve in mistakes and bad passes. Clayton closed the gap to within four before Raton regrouped and pulled it out 25-20.
What happened in game three is anyone’s guess as Raton took an early lead and just kept on piling the points on as the Clayton defense simply couldn’t perform. They missed serves that they should of handled easily and mad some bad passes and hits into the net. By the time this game ended Raton had shut Clayton down winning the game 25-4.
