Congratulations to La Cosina!!! They had a very special visit today by the State of New Mexico Tourism Department. La Cosina, because of their long family history in Raton, and their same location have been declared “NEW MExICO TRUE”.
Monique Jacobson, cabinet secretary with the Tourism Department, Jolene Mauer the communications manager, Jordan Guenther the digital media director, and Brian O’Neill the director of programs and operations showed up today at La Cosina for lunch.
After lunch the group stopped by the station to chat on air with Billy D. What a great group, wonderful visit and the chance to take some pics with some good looking “kids”. I started calling Jolene, “Squirt” since every time I showed her something from my childhood, she would comment “My Mom liked them, too.”
The New Mexico True campaign has been very successful attracting people to NM and telling natives about the great things, places, and people we have in this state. A lot of things are taken for granted when they are in your own backyard.
So this weekend, get out and visit YOUR New Mexico and find all the TRUE beauty, history and people we have here.
