Lucy Arguello

Lucy Arguello, age 75, died Monday, September 23, 2013, in Dumas, Texas.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 27, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Lucy Arguello was born on January 20, 1938 in Moses, New Mexico to Juan Isidro Valdez and Mercedes (Maestas) Valdez. She lived most of her life in Clayton where she raised her children. In 1990 she moved to Adams, Oklahoma and then she moved to Sunray, Texas to live with her daughter for a few years and she lived in Guymon, Oklahoma with her son James before moving into the nursing home in Dumas, Texas in 2012. Lucy married Domingo Arguello on June 28, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on September 1, 1964. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Lucy was preceded in death by her brothers and sister; Joe Valdez, Johnny Valdez, Gilbert Valdez and Dolores Ortiz and by her aunt Sophie Martinez.
SURVIVORS:
1 DAUGHTER: Gloria Ortiz and her husband Rito of Sunray, Texas.
4 SONS: Jimmy Arguello and Joey Sandoval both of Clayton, New Mexico, Tommy Jimenez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and James Trujillo and his wife Rita of Guymon, Oklahoma.
9 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren.
2 STEP-SISTERS: Pauline Perez of Denver, Colorado and Teresa Saunders and her husband Ed of Las Vegas, Nevada.
And numerous nieces and nephews.
