Relatives in Raton were informed that Jayann Sepich and Gov. Susana Martinez announced Monday that Katie’s Law has led to the 500th match of DNA data to a criminal case in New Mexico.
The mother, Jayann Sepich, was notified of the milestone Friday, which was also the 10th anniversary of her daughter Katie Sepich being laid to rest. Gov Martinez was the prosecuting attorney that tried the criminal case in 2006, then signed the bill into law in 2011 as Gov.
