Shirley Elaine Lawrence

Shirley Elaine Lawrence, age 77, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Shirley Elaine Lawrence was born on January 1, 1936 in Raton, New Mexico to Richard John “Dick: Lawrence and Lorraine L. (Mullennix) Lawrence. They moved to Clayton in 1938 and Shirley attended school in Clayton. She invited Jesus into her life in 1948 and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Clayton. Shirley later moved with her parents to Harbor City, California and she became a member of Harbor City Christian Church. She loved the Lord and sang special music on many occasions while she was a member of that church. They later returned to Clayton and Shirley entered the nursing home where she was very active in helping the staff and residents in many areas where she was able. Her hobbies included coloring pictures and playing bingo. Shirley made many friends during the years that she lived in the nursing home. She was preceded in death by her mother; Lorraine L. (Mullennix) Lawrence on September 26, 1992, her father; Richard John “Dick: Lawrence on March 11, 1995, a brother; Ronald Richard Lawrence on May 15, 2012 and by a nephew; Russell “Rusty” Lawrence on November 22, 2011.

1 BROTHER: Robert “Bob” Lawrence and his wife Ruth of Clayton, New Mexico.
1 SISTER-IN-LAW: Winifred Lawrence of Springs, Texas.
