New Mexico State Police and Springer Police were called to a residence on Miranda Avenue in Springer early Sunday morning (Sept 1 2013) for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival officers found that Augustine Grano (61) of Springer, New Mexico, had suffered a gunshot wound and was deceased at the scene. After the investigation was handed over to New Mexico State Police Investigation’s Bureau, one male subject, Eugene Gonzales (71) of Springer was taken into custody and has been charged with 1 count of First Degree Murder. The investigation continues.
