Fred Parker, Sr. 97 of Raton, New Mexico passed away on Sunday August 18, 2013 in Raton. He was born December 31, 1915 in Springer, New Mexico to Robert and Anne Parker. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the UMWA.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Elizabeth in May 2013, grandson Jed Young, son-in-law Fred Young, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by daughter Ruth Anne Young, three sons Fred Jr. (Susie), Leo (Donna), and David (Kathy) all of Raton, Seven grandchildren, Debra Montoya, Tammy Case, Sam Young, Dennis Parker, Becky Walker, Matthew Parker, and Seth Parker. Six great-grandchildren, Eric Montoya, Tyler Case, Ryan Montoya, Tanner Case, Reese Parker and Rylie also survive. He is also survived by numerous relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday August 21st, 2013 at 10:00am at the FirstBaptistChurch with Pastor Ed Buerkle officiating. Burial to follow at the FairmontCemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
