Elinora M. Padilla went to be with the Lord on August 3rd 2013, in Raton, New Mexico. She was born January 18th 1927 in Blossburg, New Mexico, the daughter of Higino Chavez, and Carmen Salazar. She was a lifetime member of St.Patrick, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmelites Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carmen Padilla Smith, Sister Alice Aragon.
She is survived by her husband Louis Padilla of the family home, Sister Lala Casados from Pueblo Co. Sons, Patrick Padilla and wife Jonallyn, Joseph and wife Valerie, Richard Padilla, Michael and wife Kelly, Alex and wife Audrey, Gilbert and wife Shelby. Daughters, Irene Vigil and Victor, Frances Cardenas and Richard, Virginia Martinez and David, Anna Wehrle and Tim, Julie Padilla-Valdez and Tim, Son-in-law Mike Smith of Taos. 50 Grandchildren, 40 Great- Grandchildren, 5 Great Great – Grandchildren.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will take place Wednesday August 7th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday August 8th at 9:30 a.m. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. lnurnment will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements for Elinora Padilla are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in the Honor of Elinora M.Padilla, in care of the Padilla family.
