According to court records the murder case against Donna Ray has been dismissed without prejudice due to a lack of evidence.

Donna Ray was arrested and charged last April with her mother, Geraldine Ray’s (89) death after her mother was found deceased at her home just south of Roy, NM in January.

The initial cause of death was listed as homicide by the Medical Investigator’s Office. The cause of death has since been reclassified as undetermined.

According to a release received by KRQE news from Ray’s attorneys the release said the handwriting on the alleged suicide notes matched the handwriting of Geraldine Ray. It also noted that there was no DNA or fingerprints from Donna Ray found on any of the items taken into evidence in the case nor does Donna Ray have financial motive to kill.
