Twenty years ago a balloon ride for a young man started it all off and today it continues as the International Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally. The rally took to the skies today with 16 pilots and balloons in attendance.
This morning’s crowd cheered as the balloons inflated and took skyward. As of this morning balloonist still had room for chase crew. While it maybe a little work being on a chase crew is one way to get a ride on a balloon. Often times sponsors for the balloons don’t have enough people to fill out a crew so that leaves room for others and as a thank you sometime the crew gets a ride in the balloon too.
The rally will continue Saturday and Sunday morning at La Mesa airfield so rise and shine and bring the family out for the colorful time.
