Raton fire fighters were called to 830 N 3rd St about 8:00 am for a house fire Friday morning.
Upon arrival flames could be seen coming out of the roof area around the front porch. The porch later fell to the ground as the flames weakened it. Two residents of the home made it out of the house without injury.
The home did receive major smoke and fire damage but is not considered to be a total loss. According to Fire Chief Jim Matthews the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is still under investigation as of Monday morning Dec 30, 2013.
