Raton hosted the Cimarron Rams and Lady Rams for the first games of 2026 Tuesday January 6, 2026 in what turned out to be a mixed bag of results with the JV boys the Raton team to come out on top.<\/p>\n

The JV girls however kept things close but were not able to close in on the Lady Rams after they took the early lead and held the Lady Tigers off throughout the game for a final 30-21 Cimarron win.<\/p>\n

The Raton JV Boys took the early lead and then fell behind in the second quarter and hit the halftime locker room behind 23-19. Late in the third quarter Raton battled back and had a one point lead after three. The Tigers continued their rally and broke away finishing the game with a 47-33 win.<\/p>\n

The varsity girls took to the court next and the Lady Rams took a quick early lead and never looked back. By halftime the Lady Tigers were down 32-9. coming into the second half the Lady Rams extended their lead to get the running clock and finish out the game with a 53-12 final.<\/p>\n

The boys finished out the night with the cowbell on the line, however Cimarron wasn’t going to let go very easily. The Rams rallied and double digit the Tigers in the first and added another double digit scoring drive in the second for a 52-19 lead. The Rams came back out on the court in the second half of and continued their dominating game. By the end of the game it was a running clock and a 85-45 win for the Rams.<\/p>\n
