She graduated from Pueblo High school and TSJC with a degree in Nursing. Mary worked at Mt San Raphael Hospital and retired from the Trinidad Nursing home as the Director of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>Mary was kind, warm, funny, sweet and provided steadfast love for all around. Her favorite part of life was her family, especially her son, daughter in law, and her grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy. She was a mentor for many in the community, encouraging all to better themselves. She was a fair but tough Auntie to her many nieces and nephews. Loved her crafts and really treasured her friendship with her card club.<\/p>\n<p>Mary was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Mary (Taylor) Vasquez; brothers Gene, Anthony and Edward (and wife Theresa); and sister Andrea (Vasquez) Garduno.<\/p>\n<p>Mary is survived by brothers Michael and Jose and brother in law Charles; beloved Son Michael and Erin (Rahill) Fierro, grandchildren Colin, Ace and Delanie Fierro. Nephews Justin, Ruben, Aaron, Jason and Jose Vasquez and Charles Garduno Jr. Nieces Sherri (Garduno) Garcia and Andrea (Vasquez) Reid. Many great nieces, nephews, cousins and her cherished friends also survive .<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be\u00a0<span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT755_com_zimbra_date\" class=\"Object\" role=\"link\"><span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT763_com_zimbra_date\" class=\"Object\" role=\"link\">Thursday December 4<\/span><\/span>, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel in Trinidad.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held\u00a0<span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT756_com_zimbra_date\" class=\"Object\" role=\"link\"><span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT764_com_zimbra_date\" class=\"Object\" role=\"link\">Friday, December 5<\/span><\/span>, 2025 at Holy \u00a0Trinity Catholic Church with Rosary at 12:30 pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 1 pm.\u00a0 Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Ellen Fierro, 78, of Trinidad, was called home to the Lord on\u00a0November 26, 2025 Mary was the oldest child of Tony and Mary(Taylor) Vasquez.
