A long day of basketball action in Tiger Gym Saturday November 29, 2025 as Raton hosted the Questa Lady Wildcats and Wildcats for four games resulting in three wins for Raton teams.<\/p>\n
Saturday’s games were the season opener for Questa and Raton’s second of the week. The JV Girls took the court to start the afternoon off and it looked like it would be a close game as Raton had a one point lead after the first quarter. Second quarter action saw Raton do double digits and hold Questa to a goose egg. Raton continued into the second half holding Questa to single digits and ending the game with a 33-8 score.<\/p>\n
The JV Boys started three game with double digits and at halftime it was a 26-4 game. The second half go the game flip flopped seeing Raton go cold and score only two while Questa stuffed the basket with 19 points. Raton’s fourth quarter went double digits holding Questa to only five to end the game 45-28.<\/p>\n
The girl’s varsity game was only loss for Raton on the day as the Lady Tigers could only muster seven points in the first half of play while the Lady Wildcats double digits both quarters for a 31-7 halftime score. Second half action continued much as did the first half with Questa doing 15 to Raton’s seven. At the end of the game it was a 55-24 loss for Raton.<\/p>\n
The boy’s varsity game looked like it would be much the same with Raton taking the early lead and finishing the first quarter 13-3. Second quarter action saw that 10 point lead dwindle to a tie and a free throw sent Raton to the locker room with a 19-18 lead. Third quarter action saw Raton stumble and with long passes down court that were intercepted resulting in Questa points left Raton down by four 28-24. Raton battled back with and had ties in the fourth quarter that came down to a last minute battle that ended when Raton managed to control the boards and go up by two for the win 42-40 win over the Wildcats.<\/p>\n
