Burial will follow in the Texline Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Ray Steven Smith was born on June 8, 1951, in Newton, Kansas to Davy Smith and Dena (Redger) Smith. His basic education was at Burns Elementary School, and he completed his education at Peabody, Kansas. Ray married Barb (Koehn) Smith on March 31, 1974, to this union was born three children, Kendall, Joni and Kim. They moved to the Texline area 10 months after they were married. At the start, Ray farmed, trucked and was a farm hand. He by far enjoyed the farming and soon made that his livelihood. Ray really loved each grandchild as they entered his life, and his love was felt by them.
