Robert Wilbur Martin, 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at his home in
\nTrinidad, Colorado. Rob was born on July 17, 1945, in North Bergen, N.J., to Howard and Ruth
\nMartin. He is survived by his children: Allison Sandlin nee Martin, Scott Sandlin, Dana Paine
\nnee Martin, William Moran, Nadya Moran, and his grandchildren Tayler, Brielle, Rylee, Logan,
\nand Kaeden. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Marilyn, and numerous nieces and
\nnephews.
\nRob harbored a deep passion and love for music that spanned every genre and era. A musician
\nin his youth, he joined the Navy in 1965, serving in the Vietnam War and receiving an honorable
\ndischarge in 1968. For 25 years, he worked as a terminal manager at “Ward Trucking,”
\ndedicated to providing for his family. In 2001, Rob moved to Trinidad, Colorado, to be closer to
\nhis children and became an integral part of the local business, Trinidad Builders Supply. Upon
\nretiring at the age of 76, he spent the rest of his days in the calm and peace he longed for.
\nAs per his wishes, Rob was cremated on Friday, March 1st, 2024, and his ashes will be
\ndistributed among his children and grandchildren. There will be no funeral services, in
\naccordance with his wishes. However, his family encourages anyone who knew and loved him
\nto celebrate his life and friendship in their own way. Rob will be missed and remembered by
