The conference will utilize a \u201chybrid\u201d<br \/>\nformat, with virtual workshops and an in-person option to attend watch parties at senior centers across the<br \/>\nstate. Registration is free to all New Mexicans.<br \/>\nThe conference\u2019s theme is \u201cTransforming the Future,\u201d and will include workshops from community partners on<br \/>\na variety of topics, including health and wellness, technology and innovation, and legal and financial resources<br \/>\nfor seniors. Attendees will be addressed by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor as part of the first day\u2019s<br \/>\nplenary session.<br \/>\n\u201cLast year we hosted the conference completely virtually for the first time, and while we are continuing to<br \/>\nutilize the virtual platform again this year, I know our seniors are excited to have the option of in-person watch<br \/>\nparties\u201d said ALTSD Cabinet Secretary Katrina Hotrum-Lopez. \u201cThis conference is an important networking<br \/>\nand social event for many of the older adults in our state, and we look forward to continuing the tradition again<br \/>\nthis year, especially after being apart these past few years due to COVID.\u201d<br \/>\nThe conference will be immediately preceded on September 5th by the Aging Network\u2019s Training for<br \/>\nInnovative Possibilities to Serve Seniors (TIPS).<br \/>\nTo register for the conference, visit https:\/\/coa.altsd.state.nm.us\/node\/1422745, and for more information<br \/>\nemail altsd.pio@state.nm.us<br \/>\nThe State of New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department [ALTSD] serves more than<br \/>\n200,000 seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers across the state with support, services, and<br \/>\nresources.
