\nNew Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department hosts
\n44th Annual Conference on Aging
\nAgency hosts the first \u201chybrid\u201d conference<\/p>\n

SANTA FE \u2014 SANTA FE – The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) will be
\nhosting the 44th Annual Conference on Aging on September 7-8th, 2022. The conference will utilize a \u201chybrid\u201d
\nformat, with virtual workshops and an in-person option to attend watch parties at senior centers across the
\nstate. Registration is free to all New Mexicans.
\nThe conference\u2019s theme is \u201cTransforming the Future,\u201d and will include workshops from community partners on
\na variety of topics, including health and wellness, technology and innovation, and legal and financial resources
\nfor seniors. Attendees will be addressed by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor as part of the first day\u2019s
\nplenary session.
\n\u201cLast year we hosted the conference completely virtually for the first time, and while we are continuing to
\nutilize the virtual platform again this year, I know our seniors are excited to have the option of in-person watch
\nparties\u201d said ALTSD Cabinet Secretary Katrina Hotrum-Lopez. \u201cThis conference is an important networking
\nand social event for many of the older adults in our state, and we look forward to continuing the tradition again
\nthis year, especially after being apart these past few years due to COVID.\u201d
\nThe conference will be immediately preceded on September 5th by the Aging Network\u2019s Training for
\nInnovative Possibilities to Serve Seniors (TIPS).

\nThe State of New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department [ALTSD] serves more than
\n200,000 seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers across the state with support, services, and
\nresources. Throughout the pandemic, ALTSD provided more than 4 million meals to seniors and
\nadults with disabilities and continues to provide approximately 21,000 grab-n-go meals each day.
\nWith a dedicated staff and the help of 4,700 senior volunteers, the department strives to help
\nthousands of New Mexicans achieve healthy aging, attain lifelong independence, and maintain their
\ndignity.
