{"id":69190,"date":"2020-12-21T16:18:44","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T23:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/krtnradio.com\/?p=69190"},"modified":"2020-12-21T16:18:44","modified_gmt":"2020-12-21T23:18:44","slug":"in-loving-memory-of-marian-trujillo-vigil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krtnradio.com\/wp\/2020\/12\/21\/in-loving-memory-of-marian-trujillo-vigil\/","title":{"rendered":"In Loving Memory of Marian Trujillo Vigil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Marian Trujillo Vigil, affectionately known as MTV peacefully passed away, December 12th, 2020 at 79 years of age. \u00a0She came into the world against all odds-on May 15, 1941, in Springer, New Mexico, the daughter of Severiano &#8220;Nano&#8221; and Elydia Trujillo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Marian graduated from Springer High School. \u00a0She loved socializing with people and enjoyed her first employment at the Zia Grill and Springer Drug store. She was full of life and the first to shout out a \u201cHi Sweety\u201d if she met you on the street.\u00a0\u00a0 Marian was a very active member of the community and had a strong sense of Civic duty. Throughout her lifetime her career included: Appointment to Corrections Commission under Governor Jerry Apodaca and Re-appointed by Governor Bruce King, Member, and Chairwoman of the Colfax County Commissioners, Board Chair for Colfax County General Hospital, Vice -Chairwoman of the Colfax County Democratic Party, Office Specialist and Recruiting Officer for Luna Community College. She was active within the church and a member of the choir at St.\u00a0 Joseph\u2019s Catholic Parish. \u00a0She was what some would call a \u201cSuper Politician\u201d. There are those that get into politics to help themselves and those that do it help others. Marian was drawn to politics solely to help others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Marian is survived by three daughters, Terri Backstrom of Monrovia, CA, Christina Vigil of Springer, NM, Marianna Vigil, and Geno Trujillo of Springer, NM. Two granddaughters, Sydney Danielle Backstrom of Monrovia, CA, and Isabella Marie Trujillo of Springer NM. \u00a0One grandson, Cassius Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM, Hans Backstrom of Monrovia, CA, and numerous cousins and Godchildren. Honorary Family: Eloy and Virginia Mondragon of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Portillos, of Springer NM, and Boe Lopez of Springer, NM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She is preceded in death by her parents, Severiano &#8220;Nano&#8221; and Elydia Trujillo, and Her Husband of 55 years, Daniel T. Vigil.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A memorial service will be held at a later date at St Joseph\u2019s Catholic Church in Springer, NM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pallbearers: David and Phillip Fernandez, Sam Roy, Manuel Gonzales, Geno Trujillo, Boe Lopez and TJ Mascarenas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Honorary Pall Bearers: \u00a0Hans Backstrom, Art Martinez, Charlie Montoya, Carlos Mora, George Balizan , Juan and Arturo Lisle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care and kindness shown to Marian by so many healthcare professionals throughout her stay at several long-term care facilities over the last 4 years. We are indebted to those who made her life better while she could no longer be cared for at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrangements for Marian T.
