Con Alma will award grants on an expedited, rolling basis starting\u00a0June 2\u00a0to help vulnerable populations receive the care and support they need.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSome of our populations in New Mexico have been disproportionately harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d said Dolores E. Roybal, Con Alma\u2019s executive director. \u201cWe hope our funding\u00a0will\u00a0address short-term needs for communities facing daunting health challenges as well as help develop\u00a0strategies for an equitable recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To apply for grants, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/conalma.org\/\">http:\/\/conalma.org\/<\/a>. Grants will range from $7,500 to $20,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded a $1 million grant to Con Alma Health Foundation as part of its $50 million humanitarian aid to support families and communities experiencing the greatest strain under the COVID-19 health emergency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the grant awards to nonprofits, Con Alma will collaborate with the New Mexico Health Equity Partnership, an initiative at the Santa Fe Community Foundation, to collaborate with others working on COVID-19 recovery efforts to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Leverage resources<\/li>\n<li>Prevent duplication of efforts and services<\/li>\n<li>Identify and address under-served needs<\/li>\n<li>Create a plan for the equitable recovery from COVID-19 that focuses on long-term policy and system change strategies that address health disparities and advance health equity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe will use our experience as an equity foundation and tap into the networks we\u2019ve developed over the years to consider what we can learn from this experience and how we can advance health equity, and\u00a0strengthen our infrastructure and our fragile safety net so all of our populations can be better prepared for\u00a0any crisis,\u201d Roybal said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">###<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/conalmahealth May 29, 2020\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Contact: Dolores E.
