{"id":50178,"date":"2019-04-22T17:08:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-22T23:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/krtnradio.com\/?p=50178"},"modified":"2019-04-22T17:08:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-22T23:08:00","slug":"azamar-nolasco-guilty-on-all-counts-in-vanlandingham-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krtnradio.com\/wp\/2019\/04\/22\/azamar-nolasco-guilty-on-all-counts-in-vanlandingham-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Azamar-Nolasco Guilty On All Counts in Vanlandingham Murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-byline\">Alejandro Azamar-Nolasco\u00a0\u00a0was found guilty by a jury on all counts\u00a0and was sentenced to Life Plus 10 and 1\/2 years for the murder of Mandy Vanlandingham of Raton.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The jury was selected from an original 3 panels of some 150 prospective jurors on Monday, April 15 in the courtroom of Eighth Judicial District Judge Emilio Chavez. The panel of 9 women and three men\u00a0began hearing testimony on Tuesday and\u00a0were given the case for deliberation on Thursday afternoon. The panel returned for a short time and on Friday morning April 19, rendered their decision at about 10 am.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Azamar-Nolasco was found guilty of First Degree\u00a0Murder, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Stalking and for violation of a protection order and, according to Deputy District Attorney Consuelo Garcia, a life sentence in New Mexico means 30 years mandatory.\u00a0 Azamar-Nolasco will also serve 9 years for the Burglary charge and a year and one half for the stalking charge for a total of 40 and 1\/2 years.<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Nolasco was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement \u00a0(ICE) agents at his brother\u2019s residence in Tyler Texas\u00a0on November 8, 2017, after months of work, the District Attorneys office felt it had enough evidence to move forward with the case.<\/p>\n<p>Vandlandingham was murdered on the morning of Wednesday July 20, 2016 at her residence on Sugarite Ave. in Raton. \u00a0While police felt they had a good suspect, they had to wait for evidence to be processed by a backlogged\u00a0State Crime Lab before charges could be filed and an\u00a0arrest could be made .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-meta\">\n<p class=\"post-categories\">Published in <a title=\"View all posts in News\" href=\"http:\/\/krtnradio.com\/category\/news\/\">News<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alejandro Azamar-Nolasco\u00a0\u00a0was found guilty by a jury on all counts\u00a0and was sentenced to Life Plus 10 and 1\/2 years for the murder of Mandy Vanlandingham of Raton.
