The ladies started slow with only one run in the first inning. The second inning however saw the bats swing and send the balls flying. Errors allowed base runners multiple bases and by the of the second inning it was a 13-0 game. Three up and three came across the plate to shorten the game.

Raton will now wait for the rankings which should come out this weekend. Coach Tina Dorrance is hoping for a second place ranking but would be happy with a third. While Raton has won several games with class AAAA teams Dexter has gone 24-1 in the season and was also undefeated in district play.

State tourney play will begin on Wednesday May 11 in Rio Rancho for the Lady Tigers.

Game Stats – 5/2/16 Native American Community Academy Varsity at Raton Tigers

Box Score

NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY ACADEMY VARSITY (0) AT RATON TIGERS (16)

NATIVE AMERICAN COMM AB R H BI RATON TIGERS AB R H BI
Chaslyn Tafoya 1 0 0 0 Estrella Vargas 3 2 2 3
Brennan Edaakie 1 0 0 0 Mariah Encinias 3 1 1 1
Fiona Slinkey 1 0 0 0 Jadyn Walton 3 1 0 1
Davina Anderson 1 0 0 0 Natasha Archuleta 3 2 2 2
Katie Boone 1 0 0 0 Camryn Stoecker 2 2 1 2
Taylor Ortiz 1 0 0 0 Halle Medina 0 2 0 0
Regina Torres 1 0 0 0 Sofia Maddaleni 2 1 1 1
Emily Jaramillo 1 0 0 0 Natausha Ortega 0 2 0 1
Shelby Tewahaftewa 1 0 0 0 Camryn Mileta 2 2 1 1
                                  *Alexia Romero 0 1 0 0
TOTALS 9 0 0 0 TOTALS 18 16 8 12

NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY ACADEMY VARSITY 0 0 0 -- 0
RATON TIGERS 1 12 3 -- 16

LOB--NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY ACADEMY VARSITY 0, RATON
TIGERS 1.
