The Raton Tigers continue making their mark in the win column in district play as they rattled the Rattlers from Tucumcari Friday afternoon at Gabriele Field by shutting them out in game one and 10 run rule in game two.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Cabrieles had a big day on the mound for Raton as he toppled 12 Rattler batters helping the Tigers to a 16-0 win in the first game of the double header. Raton batters had a much better day than they did against Clayton earlier in the week as the fly balls found clear ground to fall into making it easy for base runners to round the squares and make it home. Tucumcari on the other hand was finding it hard to put the ball in the outfield as many of their balls were stopped on the way out with throws to first base for outs.<\/p>\n

In game two Tucumcari managed to put two runners across home plate in the second inning but wasn’t able to do any more as Cole Medina also had a good day on the mound striking out seven of the Rattler batters. Tucumcari pitcher Zach Martinez also did his job by throwing out six Raton batters to keep them from running away with the game as they did in game one. However Raton still managed to score in all but the third inning where they went three up three down.<\/p>\n

Raton was credited with 16 hits in the first game but\u00a0could only muster nine hits in the second game while Tucumcari only managed\u00a0a total of four hits for both games.<\/p>\n
